Members of CMKXtreme Racing team to visit Sunrise Children's Hospital in Las Vegas
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
October 22, 2004

LAS VEGAS: CMKXtreme Racing teammates Jeff Arend, Connie Cohen and Tony Bartone will pay a visit to Sunrise Children's Hospital in Las Vegas on Thursday, October 28, from 2 to 4 PM. The fellow drag racers will be in town to compete at the fourth annual ACDelco Las Vegas NHRA Nationals at 'The Strip' at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, October 28-31.

The CMKX team plan's to visit with many of the young patients and their parents at Sunrise, signing autographs, posing for photos and handing out CMKX merchandise to the families. This will be the tenth hospital visit this season for Arend and Cohen, who are donating their own time to help bring smiles to those that are unable to attend the races.

"Visiting with all the children and their families this season has been a very rewarding experience," said Arend. "It's hard to described what a wonderful feeling it is to see the kid's, and even their parents, just light up when we enter the room. It's a very special feeling to know that you can help them forget their problems, even if it's only for a little while. And we've made a bunch of new NHRA POWERade Drag Racing fans for sure."

Cohen added, "I enjoy visiting the hospitals as much as I do racing. The children and their families are just so overwhelmed when we arrive and they are so appreciative of everything. Seeing these kids fighting so hard to overcome their problems is a real inspiration for me. We're just so pleased to be able to bring a little sunshine into their lives for a day."

CMKX Racing team manager, Ron Casavant, has been one of the hospital visit organizers and has been on every visit this season. "We are just trying to bring a little bit of the races to those who can't make it to the track and we've been very happy with the results. It's all about giving back to the community,"

For more than 45 years Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center has been providing the most sophisticated, quality health care for the people of Southern Nevada.
